Here is an important part of the history of the technological development of wristwatches, this is the first solar watch ever made with an analog time display.
1976 Citizen watch co. released the world’s first light-powered analogue quartz watch Citizen Crystron Solar Quartz SCQ-8629 . The one I am presenting to you is from the first series of production and was produced in 1976. This was one of the most expensive watches that Chitzen offered at the time. The watch is in total mint condition and everything on it is original, all stainless steel case, mineral glass, original bracelet…The moving part of the quartz movement is completely made of metal, it has 7 jewels. What is important to note is that this watch had an original battery in it, which unfortunately lost its capacity over time, instead of original battery you can put a standard battery of the same dimensions and the watch will work perfectly, you can also put a new akku battery of the same dimensions that can also be found on the market today.
This is one absolutely interesting and beautiful watch that I enjoy wearing…When I think that I was only five years old when it was produced, it’s like being taken out of a time capsule.
