Here is a not-so-commonly seen model from the Rado DiaStar series of watches.

In the 1970s, Rado also had an exclusive model in its offer that used a tuning fork movement and it bore the Rado Electrosonic label, however, a much rarer model was the Rado Diastar Electrosonic. What’s the difference?

A regular Rado Electrosonic is in a stainless steel case with regular glass or plexiglass and does not have the DiaStar marking, it is quite common and easy to find.

The Rado Diastar Electrosonic is housed in a watch case made of tungsten carbide material, which is extremely strong and impossible to scratch, and the glass is sapphire and is ground to follow the shape of the watch case. The watch looks like a large jewel on the wrist.

Tunning fork movement makes this watch extremely precise and accurate, and the seconds hand literally glides without stopping. Everything on the watch is original including the NSA bracelet which is extremely comfortable to wear.

This gem dates back to the first half of the 70s.
